This last week went by so fast! I can´t believe we have five days left before leaving to Quito. I am SO ready to go (even though I´m also kind of not). We got our flight plans yesterday afternoon. We leave the CCM on Monday at 9:30 PM. Our flight leaves at 1:30 in the morning for Bogota and then at 8:00 for Quito. We´ll be arriving in Quito at around 10:00 and we´re all going to be so tired. A 2 hour hour layover in Colombia should be pretty interesting too.
All missionaries that are going to South America get a special filtered water bottle. We got ours yesterday and have been trying to figure out how it works. We took one sip of water from it and it tasted super nasty so we´ve been flushing it out and using the filter to get that "brand new water bottle" taste out of it.
I can´t stress enough how excited I am to get into the field. I´ve had a lot of good experiences here but there have definitely been some less than great days. I´m sure that´s how the field is too but different. To any of my friends and family that will be entering the MTC/CCM/Whatever else it´s called in other places, just know that it´s tough but extremely rewarding. I definitely feel more prepared to bring others closer to Christ now than I did 5 weeks ago. The first couple of days were the worst for me. There is definitely some homesickness and adjustments that take place. Even if it´s only a little bit, it´s there. But stay strong and lose yourself. Some of the best times I´ve had hear is when I remembered that it´s really not about me. It´s about the work. All God asks is for our best, not perfection. Give it your all and He´ll take care of the rest. Also, to my brothers and friends who are still in high school, SCRIPTURE MASTERIES COME IN HANDY A LOT! Be diligent.
I love you all! Next time you here from me (and I´m not totally sure when that will be. I think two Mondays from now) I will be serving the Lord in Ecuador!
Only one picture today. The hermanas in our district decked out all of our planners. They are super cool!
